Pilates is a system of body conditioning based on the principles of core stability, in which the body is trained to achieve strength and stability in all planes of movement and with all types of motion. It emphasizes proper alignment, symmetry and the engagement of correct muscles to execute different types of exercises in a controlled and systematic fashion, thus training the body to do so automatically in daily activity. This exercise is low-impact, it helps prevent injuries by working the small stabilizing muscles as well as the larger muscle groups. Pilates works the entire muscular system in each class and stimulates the nervous system, the viscera, and the respiratory system.

My Pilates classes include matwork, all of the equipment work developed for this system, including the Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Barrels, Ladder Barrel as well as al lot of small equipment, to challenge and assist with exercises and proper execution. Classes are individually tailored to the specific needs of each person from dancers and athletes to post-rehabilitation clients, from young adults to senior citizens to pre and postnatal clients.
