to move though life with strength and grace

MY  JOURNEY

Much more then a part of my dance curriculum, GYROTONIC® and Pilates were always, for me,  a way to enjoy the movement of my body, to make it feel good every day, to deepen my understanding of myself. Some days, it’s like a meditation, a time to be with myself, other days it helps to work out a sore spot or a kink, to wring out the bad and renew it with something good, to fill my lungs with inspiration.....

I began to study Pilates as  a student of dance and theater and was inspired by taking a privates class, which opened my eyes to a much deeper understanding of the how the body works. I proceeded to study Anatomy and Physiology and Applied Anatomy  and enrolled in courses at Stott Pilates in Toronto, Canada in 2001. By the end of 2001 I began to teach Pilates mat classes and continued my studies, completing all levels of Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chairs and Barrels as well as Injuries and Special Populations, receiving my Full Certification from Stott Pilates in 2005.

My sister who was studying dance in New York was studying GYROTONIC® and once I saw it - it was love at first sight. I wanted to let my body move in that way! I spent 2001 and 2002 as a regular student of GYROTONIC® and later became inspired to become certified. I completed GYROKINESIS® level I (2002) GYROTONIC® level 1 & 2 (2003-2004) and was certified by Juliu Horvath. I studied with Alissa Seim, Juergen Bamburger, Sebastian Plattenberg and Magali Messac. I became Ladder certified and competed the Pre-Trainer Certification in 2008 with Alissa Seim. Since then I have taught continuously in the US, Ukraine and Argentina, teaching in three languages and sometimes in a very gestural way,

I feel that every time I move, I find a part of myself again and the joy that it gives me

is what makes it so worth sharing with everyone that I have met along my journey.
